Why Indira Gandhi Delhi Technical University for Women is the best university for a budding female engineer?

I still remember the time when I had just cleared my JEE exam and JAC forms were out for choice filling. Just like every other engineering aspirant, I was also an oblivious child having little idea as to which college and branch is to be chosen. I clearly remember browsing “Which college is best for pursuing BTech?” for hours put together, asking my doubts on “Quora”, making comparisons between various premier institutions providing education in engineering, that's when I came across “Indira Gandhi Delhi Technical Universities for women”, My college!!

However, I couldn’t have solely depended upon online reviews when it came to my career. I also had many questions lingering in my mind, some of which are: “Is this college best for me?”, “Does this college offer good placements?” , ”What is the scope of learning here?” and yes, specially “Will I be okay in a girls university?”. So, having researched immensely about this esteemed institution during my admission phase, I feel that I stand a good chance to clear all your doubts and myths regarding the college, that will surely help you find an answer to the imperative question instilled in your mind “Why IGDTUW?”.

At the outset, I would opt to give a brief introduction of my college and its evolution into becoming one of the prestigious Technical Universities in the Capital Territory. Indira Gandhi Delhi Technical University for Women (IGDTUW), is a women's university located in New Delhi Kashmere Gate. It was first founded as the Indira Gandhi Institute of Technology in 1998 as the first woman Engineering College in India. Then In May 2013 it gained autonomy and became India’s first women's technical university established by Govt. of Delhi and rechristened as Indira Gandhi Delhi Technical University for Women. It began as a non- affiliating teaching and research University at Delhi to facilitate and promote studies, research, technology, innovation, incubation and extension work in emerging areas of professional education among women.

Now if I would give an insight into the aspect that every one of us is keen to learn about while choosing college i.e. “Placement!”. Well without even a little doubt, I would confidently say, that if you are looking for good placements, then IGDTUW is just the right place for you! This year highest package offered was 60 LPA by Google and average salary package went up to 19.5 LPA. Top companies like Google, Linked in, Amazon, American Express, Microsoft and many more visited campus this year and these graphs are increasing every year. The university aims to foster an environment for excellence in professional education for women and ensure their active participation in the field of Engineering, Science, Management and Technology. IGDTUW is well known for its best teaching rating and excellent research records.
